THE FIRM a Nick Love Film recalls key Fila styles
THE FIRM DVD is now out to much critical acclaim- 80sCasualclassics and Fila Casual Fan Neil Primett was involved in the wardrobe and sees it as a must have movie to own/see for all casuals and fans of Fila. Neil via Vertigo Films got us some early images and news on the film. As well as it being a story any young adult can relate to, the clothes and music are spot on with humour from Doms Mum, Dad and Ginger Terry the appeal is broader than your normal football casuals type film,
Casual clobber a plenty, Nick Love contacted Neil from 80s Casual Classics to help find the costume for The Firm and a key need to source some expensive Fila Terrindas for the main Firm charachters. Neil contacted Fila and many 80s collectors whose fascination had kicked off from Nick Loves The Business. Fila straight away got to work on the Love Track Jacket an 80s style Nick selected for the film in navy lemon and sky blue. With endless great 80s styles still due a release Neil worked all hours to find key retro vintage items for the characters. Aware The Business sparked a re-release from the likes of Fila, Sergio Tacchini and Diadora. Fila got heavily involved with The Firm and are truly on the re-release case to emulate originals on show in the film.
A major re-release that did spark much demand after the release of The Business was the Fila Settanta Mk3 Terrinda, which was the last of bjorn Borgs track tops seen as a key item for the casual elite in 1983-85. In The Firm all colours Red, White, French Blue and Navy get seen and at one point in the 5 a-side game all Bex's West Ham firm wear the terrinda colours.

In association with Fila and The Firm the red Terrinda was released exclusively via 80s casual classics for the support to both Fila and Nick Loves The Firm, Fila release Navy and White and the amazing French BlueTerrinda in February 2010 visit www.80scasualclassics.co.uk. to order yours.
Nick Love supplied his own Fila Terrinda Red and Fila Terrinda French Blue along with 80s casual classics Neil and many other collector associates who made sure 20+ originals Fila Settanta Mk3's were on set. Filas own remakes also arrived on set and the good news for many it was a case of spot the difference, such was and is the remake quality. Many collectors, Neil included, have since sold most of their original Fila Terrindas for between £800-£1000. The excellent spec re-release has seen vintage prices drop. Be warned navy Fake terrindas were on Ebay. Look for legitimate stockists before you buy.
The Firm cinema release immediately fuelled interest in key 80s retro items from the 80s casual era and after a history of demand and sales sparked from Nick Loves 2006 hit The Business, The Firm DVD release is set to completely revive the UK casual scene for brands like Fila. We are looking at a feature on faces to influence the fortune of Fila and recent times have to go to the likes of Nick Love, Danny Dyer and Neil Primett of www.80scasualclassics.co.uk
Fila are set to release some great 80s film pieces that appear in Nick Loves The Firm, from the many originals supplied by 80s Casual Classics and a team of collectors to The Firm. On show in The Firm are many casual fashion styles from the period when it became more than just a tennis/skiwear brand. Among some of the memorable pieces there is the magnificent 3 key colour Fila currently named "Fila Aquilani" see below, The key charachter Bex wears a Vilas V design track known as the "Fila Alley" and the return of the early borg Tie-break an England Fila colours classic that was worn by both Borg and Mcenroe ahead of the Settanta Mk1 release many styles can only be bought through www.80scasualclassics.co.uk

To the left sees Snowy, a leading character in The Firm, wearing the Fila Aquilani 3 key colours Track with Yellow shoulder and Yousef, also from the firm, in Royal Blue shoulder detail. This top was loaned by a mate of Neils to Fila for the remake and 3 different colours from collectors including the orange/red shoulder made it onto the set of the Firm.
80s Casual Classics will be the only site selling the royal shoulder.
A likley favourite among many is the Vilas V track that gets worn by Bex in the key Pub apology scene.
A stunning piece selected by Nick love from the 80s casual classics originals for main character Bex.
A memorable scene from The Firm, Dom leads dry lunch (ginger Terry) down the pub to apologise to Bex for messing a night with his Mrs, Bex then takes a liking to Dom having had a lot of bottle. Dom then finds that his life is changing rapidly. All eyes clued to Bex track top a great look white and royal fila.

A classic 80s Fila track top spoted by Neil on 80s tennis website and then sanctioned by Nick Love for Fila to remake along with the four key Terrinda colours.
The Fila vintage Love Jacket features mainly in a navy version worn by Yousef (Jaf) in the face cutting knife scene. Benny from Grange Hill in the original firm was not privileged enough to have casual clobber. The top does feature in Sky Blue in the bex/yeti pub meet scene and various other scenes shows the yellow. The navy version is provng likely to be a very popular Fila re-release.
Fila navy shorts with classic Fila colours waistband and leg cuff. This original pair of shorts owned by Neil were worn by Danny Dyer in The Business tennis scene, Bex in the Firm 5-aside game and by Neil himself of 80s Casual Classics in the sports shop scene.
